There shouldn\u2019t be any other USB memory devices connected.<br>\nFirst, you need to find, which device name is used in your system for the USB floppy drive. Open a terminal window (<strong>Suse menu (green icon) &gt; Sytem &gt; Terminal &gt; Konsole (Terminal)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/others\/Usb_floppy0.png\" alt=\"Usb floppy0\" width=\"721\" height=\"449\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In the terminal type following command (press the Enter key after it):<br>\n<strong>ls \/dev\/sd*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">The output of the command is the device list. You can distinguish the USB floppy drive from the hard drive(s) quite easily: the USB floppy drive is usually listed as a last device, and it does not contains partitions, which are represented as numbers on the end of the names.<br>\nOn the image below, the floppy drive is labeled as \/dev\/sdb<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/others\/Usb_floppy0a.png\" alt=\"Usb floppy0a\" width=\"581\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Then go to\u00a0<strong>Suse menu (green icon) &gt; System&nbsp; &gt; File manager &gt; File manager -Super user mode<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/others\/Usb_floppy1.png\" alt=\"Usb floppy1\" width=\"718\" height=\"475\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Enter the administrator (root) password.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/others\/Usb_floppy1a.png\" alt=\"Usb floppy1a\" width=\"421\" height=\"260\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">In the file manager, navigate to\u00a0<strong>\/etc\/init.d<\/strong>, and click with right mouse button on the&nbsp;<strong>boot.local<\/strong>&nbsp;file icon. You should use the device name according to the output of&nbsp;<strong>ls \/dev\/sd*<\/strong>&nbsp;command on your system.):<\/p>\n<p><strong>rm \/dev\/fd0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>chmod 777 \/dev\/sdb<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ln -s \/dev\/sdb \/dev\/fd0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ln\u00a0 -s\u00a0\u00a0 \/dev\/fd0 \/dev\/fd0h1440<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>chmod 777 \/dev\/fd0*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/others\/Usb_floppy4.png\" alt=\"Usb floppy4\" width=\"704\" height=\"405\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Save the file (<strong>File &gt; Save<\/strong>), and close KWrite editor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/others\/Usb_floppy5.png\" alt=\"Usb floppy5\" width=\"704\" height=\"405\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Restart computer.
